ABOUT HEARTS & ROSES
Hearts and Roses Cancer Advocacy Foundation
We plant seeds of awareness in Nigerian communities so families can demystify cancer, detect it earlier, and walk the journey with dignity.
WHO WE ARE
Standing With People and Families Affected by Cancer
Hearts and Roses Cancer Advocacy Foundation is a nonprofit based in Owerri, Imo State. We exist so cancer is less feared, less silent and more preventable — through education, counselling, early-detection campaigns and support for patients, survivors and caregivers.
Knowledge is our first line of defence. We take trusted information into schools, churches, markets and neighbourhoods. We walk with people after a diagnosis. We speak up so palliative care and timely treatment are treated as rights, not afterthoughts.
WHAT WE DO
Turning Awareness Into Action
Our work focuses on practical cancer education, early detection, compassionate support and community advocacy.
Awareness in Communities
School outreach kits, community talks and screening-education drives on breast, cervical and prostate cancer — so people know what to look for and where to go.
Early Detection
We campaign for timely checks and clear referral paths. Finding cancer early saves lives and can reduce the cost and fear of late-stage care.
Counselling and Support
Patients and families need more than a flyer. We offer counselling and practical guidance through treatment, recovery and palliative care.
Youth and Family Education
Age-appropriate information for children, adolescents and parents — because cancer touches whole households, not only the person diagnosed.
OUR DIRECTION
Vision and Mission
A Nigeria where no one faces cancer alone.
A Nigeria where anyone touched by cancer finds support, accurate information and a path to care — without stigma or isolation.
Education, early detection, support and empathy.
To educate communities, promote early detection and prevention, stand with patients through quality support and palliative care, and replace silence with empathy.
